Return of the Alternative Book Fair and New Events
5th to 8th March 2025 and look out for our Autumn workshops
We’re excited to announce the return of London’s most inclusive book fair, the Alternative Book Fair, from March 5th to March 8th, coinciding with the start of the London Book Fair 2025. This week-long celebration of publishing and literature is designed to reach a broader audience, including aspiring authors, emerging writers, and avid readers. With free entry to all events, including the Indie Press Fair on Saturday, March 8th, we’re thrilled to welcome you thanks to the support of Islington Libraries, the Arts Council England, Watson, Little Literary Agency, Indie Novella, and The Diversity in Publishing Partnership.
Last year’s fair was an incredible success. Award-winning crime writer Ajay Chowdhury joined us to discuss his latest book The Spy and his critically acclaimed Kamil Rahman series, offering inspiration for aspiring crime writers. We also hosted a panel on motherhood, identity, and societal expectations, featuring Chloë Ashby, Kate Maxwell, and Rose Diell in conversation with journalist Emily Rhodes, in partnership with growing UK charity Book Banks.
Of course, a highlight was the Indie Press Fair, where readers and writers connected with leading independent publishers. Last year saw Dead Ink Books, Weather Glass Books, Renard Press, and many more present, alongside talks from authors Marieke Bigg, Phoebe McIntosh, Andrew Hayward, and many others.
This year promises to be even bigger! With the Indie Press Fair and Publisher’s Panel confirmed again, we look forward to celebrating the most innovative voices in literature with you.
Mark your calendars and stay tuned for more event announcements!
Indie Novella are also delighted to announce a whole host of autumn workshops. Which you can find on our website. No need to book, just turn up! Also if you are out of London and think your community can benefit from a writing workshop (and have a space to host it) let us know!
